The
Sir Philip Reckitt Educational Trust (SPRET), a registered charity, was
established in 1944 by the late Sir Philip Reckitt. Sir Philip was a former
Chairman of Reckitt and Sons Ltd who had a keen interest in educational
development particularly for the benefit of his employees. The Trust is
now administered by Trustees who have total discretion to allocate grants
in accordance with the conditions set out in the Trust Deed.
The objective of the Trust is to assist with education in languages, business
methods, social services and the customs of any other country or in any
other educational matter, by any person resident in, or in full time education
in Norfolk, Hull or the former East Riding of Yorkshire. The Trust's assistance
comes in the form of contributions towards the cost of travel, residence
